This course, which will be one of the first on your Masters Programme, will introduce you to some of the questions we ask about Education and will get you thinking about the core issues that make up the education debate. We hope you will come with wider questions and will get a chance to explore these with the colleagues on the course

Understanding, as distinguished from having correct information and scientific knowledge, is a complicated process, which never produces unequivocal results. It is an unending activity by which, in constant change and variation, we come to terms with and reconcile ourselves to reality, that is, try to be at home in the world.

The sessions for this module will take place face-to-face on MONDAYS

AFTERNOON SESSION students: Start at 14:00 and finish at 16:00 (Wilberforce LT15 - Ground Floor)
EVENING SESSION students: Start at 17:00 and finish at 19:00 (Wilberforce LT1 - First Floor)

(The intention is to dual-stream the evening sessions for people who need to isolate or have work or childcare issues, or have not yet arrived on campus - but you should come to the face-to-face sessions unless there is a very good reason not to do so - please let us know if you are not coming). Be aware the the dual-streaming may suffer from technical failures.)
